Day 23: Los Angeles and Laguna Beach

After an exciting yet physically exhausting day in Disneyland yesterday, the group was glad to have some more slow paced events today. We left the hotel around 9AM heading for Los Angeles where the walk of stars awaited us.  We took a drive down Sunset to be dropped off at Hollywood Blvd. Students walked along the walk of stars seeing stars for everyone from Bob Barker to BeyoncĂ© including Walt Disney and Kermit the Frog. Along the way the crew saw the Chinese and Dolby Theaters which are home to both the Academy Awards and American Idol.

Lunch was had at the Original Farmers Market of Los Angeles. Groups of students had a variety of choices including Asian cuisine, gourmet hotdogs, crepes, and pizza.  Dessert choices ranged from fresh fruit to ice cream and candy. Some students even enjoyed sit down meals at local restaurants.  Needless to say, there were options to please any appetite!

A quick trip back to the hotel allowed the group to grab beach gear before heading to the beautiful Laguna Beach. We arrived at the prime time to swim and enjoy the beach. The air was just warm enough that the chilly water felt refreshing. Many students swam and played in the waves, others laid on the beach, some played volleyball or basketball, and others found new treasures at the local shops and boutiques. Dinner was on their own in the area which again allowed for all palates to be satisfied.  The group gathered to head to the bus just as the sun completely disappeared behind the cliffs of Laguna Beach. A successful day for sure! (I can tell by the quiet that has filled the bus on the drive back to Anaheim). It will be an early curfew as all will need energy for the San Diego Zoo tomorrow! Good night!
