Day 17: Seattle to Gold Beach, OR

The majority of the day was spent riding on the bus. Most students slept for the first couple of hours. After the first rest stop we put in a movie to get us to lunch. After lunch the group rallied for another movie. As it turned out, they had conveniently purchased Ouija from the Red Box so the vote was unanimous.

We arrived at Jot's Fishing Resort around 5PM. The students immediately commented on the view of the Rogue River we have straight off our hotel deck. We have had a significant temperature drop this week. We reached around 108 in Arches about a week ago, followed by 90s through Seattle. We were greeted by mid 60s as we exited the bus at Jot's.

Tonight the group is enjoying a BBQ next to the water complete with a celebration of birthdays occurring on the tour. Sophie, Will, and Edward all have or will have birthdays while we are gone. Two large cakes were prepared for the group by a local baker (delicious, might I add)! Let's just say the group ate well tonight.

After dinner a DJ started up a dance and karaoke party that is still going strong. We promise to have the kids in bed at a decent hour as tomorrow will be an early
morning as we travel to the destination many students are looking forward to the most, California!
